Dr. Philip Wilmoth

Dr. Philip Wilmoth

Dr Philip Wilmoth, a native of Elkins, WV, graduated from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. In 1984 he and his wife Cathy moved to Fairmont, WV and he joined the long standing optometry practice of Dr Robert DiTosti. Subsequently Dr Wilmoth took ownership of the practice (ie Fairmont Eye Care, Inc). With the help of loyal and dedicated staff the practice grew by striving to provide the highest level of patient centered services. With the addition of Dr Martin Carpenter in 2003 and the completion of facility expansion and remodeling in 2005 the practice has increased its range of basic and advanced ocular diagnosis and treatment options. Dr Wilmoth takes great pride in how the providers and staff at Fairmont Eye Care continue the tradition of compassionate, friendly and professional eye care.

Along with providing basic treatment services such as glasses, contact lenses and acute ocular pathology, Dr Wilmoth devotes much of his energies to the diagnosis and management of more chronic conditions such as dry eye, glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic eye disease. For many years Dr Wilmoth has also provided low vision services including the fitting of bioptic driving devices.

When not at the office Dr Wilmoth and his wife find joy in working outside, hiking, church involvement and visiting their three sons and families.
